Unexpected Exhaustion

So far the day has gone well. The crew of four seems friendly and hardworking, and there have been no unwelcome surprises. Aside from me answering a question or two now and again, they’ve pretty much done everything. Yet, at barely 1pm, I’m actually exhausted. There’s no good exertion-based reason for it. Maybe it’s due to the feeling that I have to track what everyone is doing at all times (which I don’t), or that they’re handling thousands of our personal effects to complete the job, or that the house is in disarray. Whatever the case, I’m ready for the day end so Angela and I can relax in quiet and plan for tomorrow.

Day 1 of Moving

Day 1 of Moving: Jim checking emails. The house is a complete mess. The movers are here to help pack. Baby seem completely content to sit among the mess.

Pop tart meals?

Noon: Had a Taco Bell chalupa for lunch. Said goodbye to TJ. Going to miss both of them.
4:19p: Pop tart for tea
6:30p: Dinner at Christian’s.

Items left in the fridge: 2 eggs, 1 cup of milk, a bottle of ketchup, 2 bottles of beer, 2 bottles of wine cooler, leftovers from Olive Garden.

Procrastination’s last stand

Well, this is it. This is the last day to sort out what pieces of our home go by sea, air, get stored, etc. Given that the moving company is going to pack everything up for us, I’m receiving no sympathy from anyone concerning the miniscule task of sorting. Nonetheless, it ain’t done yet, but it needs to be before 7:30am tomorrow when the movers arrive. It’s not a hard thing, but it’s not a very fun or satisfying thing either. Rather than slowly seeing things end up in boxes or make their way onto a truck (and make room for us to walk!), we instead see growing piles of items that have in common only a “Sea” sticker on them. It’s officially progress, but the net result is a messy, less functional house. But hey, by Thursday night we’ll have a clean, quite empty house, if all goes as planned.
