Procrastination’s last stand

Well, this is it. This is the last day to sort out what pieces of our home go by sea, air, get stored, etc. Given that the moving company is going to pack everything up for us, I’m receiving no sympathy from anyone concerning the miniscule task of sorting. Nonetheless, it ain’t done yet, but it needs to be before 7:30am tomorrow when the movers arrive. It’s not a hard thing, but it’s not a very fun or satisfying thing either. Rather than slowly seeing things end up in boxes or make their way onto a truck (and make room for us to walk!), we instead see growing piles of items that have in common only a “Sea” sticker on them. It’s officially progress, but the net result is a messy, less functional house. But hey, by Thursday night we’ll have a clean, quite empty house, if all goes as planned.

I thought kalafut.net was hosted on a PC in your basement. Have you installed a remote solenoid to punch the reset button? Of course, if you’re not running Windows, there’s probably little need for such a button.

Our experience is that packers do a lousy job of packing. Pack the more valuable and the more fragile items yourself.

It’ll be nice having friends only 3 hours away by plane, instead of 21 hours, at least for two or three months anyway.

No, kalafut.net is hosted by some mega server farm, where they hire people to press the button for you.

I’m actually new to these blogger services and was pleasantly surprised that Blogger.com would gladly manage everything on another site via FTP. It seems to work just fine.
