Downsizing
I just sold our Rav4, with which we saw a nice chunk of the South Island. For the next month I’ll be driving this fine automobile. It has it all: ugly lines, bad color, slow. It’s actually quite a bit worse than the picture conveys–the blue color is heinous. I guess that’s what I get by choosing a “Corolla-sized” rental and taking what they gave. CAT better appreciate my frugality!

I thought you had a Bluebird or something. I love Rav4’s. Some people dream of having a BMW or Mercedes, I want a Rav4!
Yeah the Rav4 was really a good car. Here’s ours:

We did have a Bluebird too. It was not that enjoyable, but I didn’t have problems with it either:

Hey people, the car’s really not THAT bad – it’s just Jim has forgotten he is in a small country where small is considered ideal – but he DOES look cute in it..(That’s my house in the top left pf his car photo!!!)
When I was in California I had a Chevy Aveo rental. There was like 1 button on the dash- nothing extra. It was pretty bare bones to the point that the only way you could lock the door was to put the key in the lock every time you left the car. It sounds trivial, but you couldn’t just press the lock down and shut the door. You couldn’t even do it by holding the handle up as you closed. I’ve had cars without automatic locks before but this was ridiculous. It sure does make you appreciate the ‘luxury’ of automatic doors and windows.
