Anyway one weekend we were out in the country and went by a field of them and she said “HEY !!!! look at all the stupids!”.

After a moment I figured out what she was saying, then after a few minutes (when I regained composure and stopped laughing), I was able to explain the correct usage.

We both got such a good laugh out of it that she still refers to them as stupids though.
